Annexair to Implement A2L Refrigerants Beginning January 2025, Advancing Environmental Stewardship and Efficiency
Starting January 2025, Annexair will use A2L refrigerants in its products to comply with the AIM Act. This act, effective December 27, 2020, mandates the EPA to restrict HFCs and requires HVAC manufacturers to use refrigerants with lower global warming potential in new systems.
Annexair will start incorporating A2L refrigerants into its product lines beginning January 2025. This transition aligns with the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act, enacted on December 27, 2020, which empowered the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to limit the production and use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). As of January 1, 2025, HVAC manufacturers are required to use refrigerants with lower global warming potential (GWP) in all new residential and commercial ducted systems.
The transition to A2L refrigerants reflects Annexair’s ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental impact. A2L refrigerants, also known as low-GWP refrigerants, have been engineered to address global climate concerns by offering a lower global warming potential compared to traditional refrigerants. This change supports Annexair's strategy to align with global environmental standards and regulations aimed at mitigating climate change.
Enhanced Performance and Safety
In addition to their environmental benefits, A2L refrigerants are designed to provide superior performance and reliability. These refrigerants combine lower flammability with high efficiency, ensuring that Annexair’s HVAC systems will continue to deliver exceptional cooling and heating performance. The adoption of A2L refrigerants will enhance energy efficiency across our product lines, helping customers achieve greater energy savings and operational effectiveness.
A Seamless Transition
Annexair is dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition to A2Lrefrigerants. The company has outlined a comprehensive plan to update its existing product portfolio and integrate the new refrigerants without compromising on performance or safety. This transition will involve extensive training for our team, adjustments in manufacturing processes, and updates to technical documentation to ensure that customers receive the highest quality products.
Supporting Our Customers and the Planet
“Our transition to A2L refrigerants underscores our commitment to leading the HVAC industry towards a more sustainable future,”said François Lemieux, president of Annexair. “By embracing these advanced refrigerants, we are not only enhancing the efficiency of our systems but also supporting our customers in meeting their own sustainability targets.”
Looking Ahead
Annexair is excited about the positive impact that A2Lrefrigerants will have on its products and the broader environment. The company will continue to monitor advancements in refrigerant technology and regulatory developments to ensure that its solutions remain at the forefront of industry standards.
