U-Design is an innovative selection tool. A lot of work has been involved in the interface design. The first criteria in mind was the user-friendly method not always given by other manufacturer's software, while still giving the same quality of information without the headaches. We then wanted to create a pleasant experience that makes it fun to design a project without it being a burden. And since it's fast and pleasant, you get your pricing and performance in a snap, you are quickly back to your other tasks like for example meeting with new customers.

We know how you work: sometimes at home, sometimes on the road, at the hotel, in the airport terminal or at your customer's office. Sometimes you have an Internet connection, sometimes not, but you always want to be able to work regardless of your location. For you, we have duplicated the live web interface into a convenient windows based application you can carry around with you. Whenever you get an Internet link, the application will update itself automatically so you always have the latest Annexair offering, pricing, drawings and specifications.

This selection tool contains many features, among others:

Project Manager

The project manager provides you the perfect tool to keep track of all your projects in one convenient place. You can:

Mark the status of your projects and put a deadline for the current status. You can sort your project by status, to quickly determine your priorities.
Select designed units from previous jobs and insert them in your current project to speed up your work.
You can duplicate an existing project and just change the project parameters (for those who frequently do the same things over and over).
Manage the projects revisions and keep notes of the modifications between each revision for later review.
You can check your shipping estimated date whenever you want.

Unit Manager & Unit Selection Methods

As with the project manager, you can easily manage the units in a project. To ease your selection work, we have developed 4 methods that suit your skills,
knowledge and experience:

Wizard: Answer a few questions asked in plain English and get a short list of available units. Choose one proposed selection and get a detailed unit summary. If you like your selection, click select and go on to choose our options.
My Favourites: Like your web browser favourites, you can identify the unit model that you regularly use in your work. You can then access them quickly and easily to start working right away.
Pro Mode: For experienced users, select the different search criteria and as you select, the different menus will always give you available options. You will not end up with an impossible combination.
Product Code Search: Get the product code from either the pre-engineering or the web catalogue and get a list of the unit configurations that are available.

Options & Selection Modes

Standard units come with pre-defined options. You have plenty of room to adapt your unit to suit your needs. You can always change your unit selection if you find yourself limited. Ultimately, you can forward a design request to the sales office if you need a custom made unit.

For standard products, you may not enter all the options required to make a complete selection when you don't want to. You may use the "Budget" path to have standard selections already selected for you. This way you can get a unit cost faster while still being able to come back and select the options at your will.

Document management & Printouts

When all your selections are done, you can choose the printouts you want. If you're in for a preliminary, then select this package for your needs. If on the other hand, you have answered all the appropriate fields and are able to generate a submittal, you are free to do so. You can even generate documents with special contents and save these configurations in your preference for future use.
